The situation has been variously explained in these Contact Reports:

  The images confiscated by Quetzal upon the realisation of their manipulation, designed to make Billy look cheap. Were already destined for use in a film production, the Plejaren had already arranged picture-impulses which would fortify the production and the events, that producers would expand out the subject material of their own volition building a stronger compound exposé. Embarrassingly instead what happened was the producers during the course of the production of the creative works found themselves illustrating for content that would later become considered by investigators as original content, part of the cannon. Which is a really fancy way of saying the Plejaren somehow feel responsible for how things went down in those early years, for the actions of these various creative content producers, who had their works fortified by potentially powerful and certainly instigating picture-image-impulses.
  
  Yet despite these images being stupidly obvious to any contemporary human that they are just creative artistic works, still even today all kinds of individuals come along every day, swords drawn ready for battle to argue for the toss as to whether these stupidly unrealistic paintings are real photos, despite obviously not being.
  
  Therefore there is another interesting reason the entire episode has been allowed to remain a part of the experience, its for investigators of image-picture-impulses to be able to access the various dosages with real life human subjects. The power of these forces can be examined under safe conditions, the dangers can be examined and we may investigate how the discovery of this physics, to own, use and form into a technology like this, how it could be horrendously powerful but also extremely dangerous for us all on Earth if this physics were to be experimented with in wider more open formats. We can use these types of examples if we are investigating impulses and easily find real life human specimens to examine, please observe neutrally, seeing as ive opened this territory up for you now to take another look, take responsibility for your own personal care and protection as well as have the compassion that these individuals have succumbed to obviously, clearly artistic works, its stupid really, please have some compassion and investigate it carefully.
